As my first internship, it shows what results happen through excitement and deep dive in the market. One of my assignments was to develop a solution for an infant tub. At the time the solutions included infant tubs were one to two stages, pricey with additional fabric slings and large-hard to manage a wet baby-basins.
Through research, focus groups, interviews and ideation- multiple concepts and a full prototype resulted at the end of the three months. The form was crucial - by creating a narrower side of the tub with a removable positioning bump allows baby to be safety positioned (making it a 3 in 1 stage), a narrow base allows it to be positioned safety in a sink and container for smaller amount of accessible water, a drain and large smooth rim for safety and rigidity in the form, along with exploration of water rinse sprays. The Whale of a Tub along with the Soothing baby tub, among other features came out of this development.

What can I say... this tub is awesome. So good that I bought it twice. I first owned it for my boys, and used it primarily when they were too small to sit up unassisted. The recline of the tub, combined with the snap in bar for baby's tush makes for a perfectly comfortable bath for baby. I was able to put enough water in to get the boys clean, and enough for them to have some fun splashing, but it never was so much that it got near their ears or face. Once my boys outgrew it, I gave this to a friend for her to use.... she loved it as much.
