Invacare specializes in various medical arenas, including Power Rehab Wheelchairs. These are complex systems with many stakeholders. Through user-driven research, we gained an understanding of the unique needs of each of these stakeholders: the end-user, the Provider and Clinician ... all while staying within strict guidelines of agencies like the FDA. We wanted to make sure the End User could confidently navigate terrain with ease and have a sense of individuality, as many people do not feel seen or heard having a disability. The Clinician has a limited time to see each patient- so adjustability is crucial. The Provider has many appointments with limited time- so when someone calls because the battery died while outside- time and accessibility is key. All of these examples and many more insights, drove the design of this new system, setting it apart from its competitors.
